The Working Group II contribution considers the vulnerability and exposure of human and natural systems, the observed impacts and future risks of climate change, and the potential for and limits to adaptation. The report assess how risks and opportunities for societies, economies, and ecosystems varies around the world. People and societies may perceive or rank risks and potential benefits differently, given diverse values and goals.

The report presents both global/sectoral aspects and regional aspects, to reflect the expanded literature basis and multidisciplinary approach and increased focus on societal impacts and responses.
