Bjerknes Visiting Fellow

Aim:

The visiting fellow programme aims to promote cooperation in climate research with outstanding scientists and research institutions both at the national and international levels.

It is required that the visit will be useful for others than the applicant.

 

What it funds:

The program supports travel and accommodation expenses of visits of maximum 14 days in the course of the year.

 

Application guidelines:

  • Name of the applicant and the host institution

  • Name of the visiting fellow and her/his affiliation

  • Background for, and goals of, the visit

  • Tentative dates

  • Budget and funding plan, daily allowances according to rules.

  •  The application shall not exceed 1 A4 page

 

Deadline:

Normal years the deadline is December 1st for visits during Spring term and June 1st for visits during Autumn term

Calls for BVF will be announced by email to BCCR members in due time before the deadline

The applications are processed by the Bjerknes Leader Group. 

Grant allocations will be announced 2 weeks past the deadlines

 

During and after the stay:

The visiting fellow shall hold at least one public lecture during the stay. After the visit, the applicant prepares a short report (max 1 A4 page) describing the activities and outcome(s) to be sent as an attachment to post@bjerknes.uib.no within 1 month of the guest´s departure
