Short biography:

Name: Igor Esau

Affiliation: NERSC

At present senior researcher at the NERSC and adjunct Associate Professor at UiB. The main interests in local climate, climate dynamics, turbulent processes, planetary boundary layer and urban environment .Work with analysis of remote sensing and climate model data, atmospheric soundings, turbulence modeling and parametrizations. Focus on theoretical studies under general line of "turbulence and climate"

This lecture will review environmental impact of the energy cycles created by humanity. It will consider both the direct energy use impact (heating) and its numerous indirect impacts on the earth's climate. It will discuss limited resources for renewable energy and the effective use of those resources within the economic concept of externality.

Arranged date for the seminar talk: Jan 15, 2018
