The climate of Norway the next 100 years: uncertainties and risks (14.09.2005)

Body

New results from from the research project RegClim, funded by the Research Council of Norway predict that in the coming 100 years:

  • The climate in Norway will be wetter
  • There is an increased risk for heavy precipitation throughout the country and summer draughts in the southwest
  • Due to inherent uncertainties, the climate changes predicted by RegClim can be even larger
  • There is a considerable risk for at the Arctic ice cover will dissapear during the summers
  • Air pollution due to particles (aerosols) is most likely to dampen the predicted climate changes
