Short info

My research activity focus on how climate changes affect mesopelagic fish and crustaceans and deep-sea ecosystems in west Norwegian fjords. My responsibility is also to coordinate the (20 ECTS) Ocean Science course (BIO325) where I teach Module 2 (Marine Ecological Field Methods).

Research

Environmental influence on fish behaviour and ecosystem functioning.  Model organisms are marine and freshwater fish. I work in the field and  with experiments.

Climate change and sustainability in Norwegian fjords

Presset på de norske fjordene øker, og miljøet i de dype fjordbassengene forringes. Samtidig påvirker klimaendringer fornyelsen av vannet i dypet. 

For å kunne forvalte fjordene på en bærekraftig måte, må vi forstå hvordan dagens og tidligere tiders endringer i fjordenes fysiske og kjemiske miljø påvirker økosystemet. 

Hovedmålet med CLIFORD er å studere hvordan klimaendringer vil endre fjordenes bæreevne, og å forbedre modellverktøyene som brukes til å beregne endringer.
