Om

I am an ocean glider engineer in NorGliders (the Norwegian National Facility for Ocean Gliders), which operates a fleet of 11 underwater autonomous gliders. My work involves technical tasks and research related to our glider activity.

My research focuses on the northern limb of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation and the Nordic Seas climate system. In particular, I am interested in the pathways and processes transforming warm Atlantic Water flowing into the Nordic Seas into dense overflow waters.

Resilient northern overturning in a warming climate

In ROVER the researchers will observe the deep-water formation along east Greenland, both through a winter expedition on an icebreaker, using mooring across the Greenland slope, and autonomous underwater gliders. The measurement campaign will provide groundbreaking data, cruical for the understanding of the processes that supply cold, deep water to the lower limb of the AMOC.
