Anthony Bosse

My postdoc position is linked to the ProVoLo project which aims at better understanding (sub)mesoscale variability and energy dissipation in the Lofoten Basin from in situ measurements collected by underwater gliders (http://naco2.gfi.uib.no/), moorings, RAFOS floats, drifters and R/Vs (CTD and microstructure).

Research topics:

  • (Sub)Mesoscale processes: Subsurface long-lived submesoscale vortices, fronal processes and their biogeochemical implications;
  • Open-ocean deep convection: convective plumes, water mass transformation and ventilation;
  • Ocean intrumentation: Gliders (http://www.ego-network.org), turbulence measurements.
