Seminar: Hva er konsekvensene av 1,5 og 2 grader oppvarming?

Hva er konsekvensene av 1,5 og 2 grader oppvarming?

I dag har vi en global oppvarming på oppunder en grad fra før-industriell tid. Resultatene vi presenterer denne dagen tar utgangspunkt i en global oppvarming mellom 1,5 - 2 C. Spørsmålet er: Tåler vi en grad til?

Da Parisavtalen ble vedtatt i desember 2015, lå det også inne en oppfordring til FNs klimapanel om å lage en spesialrapport som ser på klimaendringer ved 1,5 grade global oppvarming. Arbeidet med spesialrapporten er i gang, og skal lanseres 8. oktober 2018.

 

Da avtalen ble vedtatt hadde man ikke mye forskning som undersøkte konsekvensene ved 1,5 grader global oppvarming og forskjellen mellom 1,5 og 2 grader. Forskningsmiljøene ble invitert til å bidra til å belyse dette.

 

Våren 2016 utlyste Norges forskningsråd midler til korte forskningsprosjekt som kunne levere resultater til den kommende spesialrapporten. Fem norske forskningsprosjekt ble innvilget.

 

Gjennom forskningsprosjektene har norske forskere publisert viktig kunnskap om hvordan klimasystemet vil respondere på disse temperaturnivåene.

 

Derfor inviterer CICERO, Bjerknessenteret, Forskningsrådet og Miljødirektoratet til et seminar både om den kommende spesialrapporten og resultatene fra de norske forskningsprosjektene om konsekvenser av global oppvarming på 1,5 og 2 grader og mulige tiltak.

 

Seminaret er åpent for alle. Målgruppen er forskning og forvaltning og dersom det blir fullt, prioriteres disse. Påmeldingsfrist er 31 mai. Se lenke for program og påmelding.
