Tobias Ehmen

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher working within the NUBICOS and ICOS-3 projects to monitor, process, and improve observations of surface ocean pCO₂ and quantify oceanic carbon uptake in the North Atlantic and Nordic Seas. Prior to joining the Bjerknes Centre, I worked at the University of Exeter, UK, on observation-based reconstructions of the interior ocean's carbon budget and other biogeochemical parameters, with a focus on reconciling different methods of assessing global carbon storage and variability and bridging gaps between observations and models. I hold a PhD in Seismic Oceanography from the University of Exeter where I applied reflection acoustics to image thermohaline structure in the ocean, a hybrid approach bridging Geophysics and Physical Oceanography.
